We offer undergraduate and graduate internships in Child Advocacy (CAC), Adult Advocacy (SAC), and Administrative & Community Engagement roles, providing real-world experience in trauma-informed care, crisis response, outreach, and operations.

Volunteer with Us

You can make a difference by volunteering your time to support survivors and strengthen our community. Opportunities include serving as a trained hotline advocate, helping with outreach and community engagement, supporting special events like The Vagina Monologues and Athens’s Got Talent, or participating in organized Days of Service.

The Cottage is currently hiring for a brand new position for an Advocate for Adult Services to help expand our team!

The Advocate for Adult Services provides a variety of clinical, intervention, and advocacy services for adult survivors of sexual assault and their families in Athens-Clarke County. This position collaborates with professionals from other agencies involved in sexual assault investigations and/or provision of services, which can include: hospitals (Piedmont Athens Regional or St. Mary’s), law enforcement, and District Attorney, ACC Jail/Prison, or SANE, Inc. (Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners), etc. This position is supervised by the Director of the Sexual Assault Center (SAC).

This is a full-time position with full health, vision, and dental insurance benefits along with a retirement package and flexible spending account for health care and dependent care. This position will occasionally need to respond via phone during nights/weekends to provide guidance for The Cottage 24/7 crisis hotline and Accompaniment Advocates.
