Your generosity helps make healing and justice possible.

Friends of The Cottage are individuals, clubs, and groups who choose to invest in lasting local impact. Their sustaining support makes free, confidential services like therapy, advocacy accompaniment, and essential care possible for survivors. However you choose to give, your support creates real impact and helps ensure no one has to navigate healing alone.

Community-Founded & Funded

Donations

The Cottage has been community-founded and funded for over 50 years. Your generosity ensures survivors in the Athens area and Clarke County have access to free, confidential support when they need it most. Every gift is thoughtfully stewarded to create real, local impact.

Give Needed Items

Support survivors and therapy services by purchasing items from our Amazon or Walmart Registry or participating in our Donation Drive. These contributions help meet practical needs and create a welcoming, supportive space.

In-Kind Donations

Businesses and individuals can donate goods or services such as supplies, food, professional services, or raffle and auction items to support our events and operations. In-kind gifts help us stretch every dollar further.

Donate Money or Gifts

You can join Friends of The Cottage starting at just $10/month ($120/year), becoming part of a dedicated community that sustains therapy services, advocacy accompaniment, and essential care for survivors. Friends receive updates, invitations to special events, recognition throughout the year, and, at select levels, additional perks like a commemorative leaf on our Friends Tree and event tickets.

How to Donate

Mail a check to 3019 Lexington Rd. Athens, Ga 30605

You may also donate appreciated stocks, bonds, or mutual funds through the Athens Area Community Foundation (AACF), allowing you to maximize your impact while receiving potential tax benefits. Appreciated securities donated to the AACF are deductible at their full market value up to 30% AGI each year. The AACF will liquidate, and no capital gains tax is paid on the appreciated part of the gift. The AACF will then make a grant to The Cottage.

After donating, you’ll receive an email receipt and our sincere gratitude for being part of this work.

Donation Drive

Sometimes the most meaningful gifts are the ones you can hold in your hands. The items you donate create comfort during counseling sessions, provide stability during difficult moments, and help make The Cottage a safe, welcoming space for survivors.

To donate, shop our Amazon or Walmart Wishlists or email email us to coordinate a drop-off. Your generosity turns simple items into powerful tools for healing.
