This staged production centers the diverse experiences of women, and others who identify with having a vagina, through monologues, poetry, short scenes, music, and spoken word. The production will explore themes of identity, bodily autonomy, love, resilience, intimacy, resistance, joy, and liberation.
Created and presented by The Cottage, Our Bodies, Our Voices, Our Choices will bring together original work that reflects a wide range of lived experiences, perspectives, and voices. This new production aims to center stories that have historically been marginalized, overlooked, or silenced on mainstream stages. We are especially interested in pieces that feel personal, honest, unexpected, and made to be heard aloud – work that is funny, raw, heartbreaking, triumphant, angry, tender, and fiercely authentic.
Selected works will be developed for a live production at the Marigold Auditorium for Arts and Culture in Winterville, February 4–6, 2027.
Auditions will take place in December, and rehearsals will begin in January 2027.
